Available in four sizes, the Tradewind Shoulder Bags are great when you want to carry your camera attached to your favorite lens plus extra lenses or a flash unit. And there is room for a tablet or notebook. Tuck an extra battery or your keys into the interior micro mesh zippered pocket. Handy external stretch mesh pockets hold other accessories, so you will have everything you need to capture that perfect shot. Tradewind Shoulder Bags are made with water resistant PU coated nylon, lightweight protective foams and YKK zippers. Plus they come with a fully adjustable shoulder strap with a neoprene pad to carry everything comfortably. All that and a great price.
I got this bag about 1 year ago, and I have been extensively using it since then. It is by far the camera bag I have used most. I can easily carry all the m4/3 and Fuji lenses.
This is my Fuji setup: X-T2, 12mm f/2.0 Rokinon, 23mm f/1.4 Fujifilm, 56mm f/1.2 Fujifilm, 18-55mm Fujifilm, and 55-200mm Fujifilm. They all fit in this bag - a bit tight, but they fit. I also have space for X-T2 flash in the inside top pocket, a spare battery, spare lens caps, lens cleaner, 2 to 3 circular polarizers.
The only complaints I have are:
- the bag is not waterproof and it is not very rigid.
- Not very flexible in terms of dividers - the velcro straps only allow specific configurations
- only two dividers - had to use dividers from other bags to protect all the gear I usually carry
- Outside pockets are just a cheap net - what you carry in there is not going to be protected, and can always slip out
However, the pros overcome the cons in my opinion, because the bag is perfectly sized, it opens towards your body for quick access, the foam used is protective and extremely light.
Note that I did change the strap - I went for a more comfortable premium one by Tenba.
Tamrac should release a more premium version of this bag, keeping its size, and weight, but definitely improving waterproofing, strap, and the outside storage.
The Tradewind 6.8 is the perfect size for my Sony A7 series camera, five small prime lenses (one mounted) and a 75mm square filter kit that is kept in a lens pouch (sits on top of the lenses and next to the camera). I had been looking for an extremely light bag and this is the lightest I could find with this volume. This does translate into a bag that is less rigid but I do not feel this will be an issue. I wish the side mesh pocket was deeper to hold a water bottle and it could use a zipper compartment on the front instead of mesh. The inner top zipper compartment is a rough feeling mesh material that I wonder could possibly scratch the LCD screen, but thankfully this size bag is tall enough that the inner top flap does not touch the camera (the top zip compartment is a great place to store 4 batteries, memory cards, and remote). I would also like to see sewn to the bottom lashing points to be able to attach a tripod to the bottom of the bag at least on this larger version 6.8.
But overall this is the closest thing to the perfect minimalist lightweight bag for a reasonable price I could find currently.
